"State of Mind" 2-channel videoinstallation, 2008

State of Mind is a videoinstallation filmed in southern China, in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. An area that is going through massive structural changes.

The work deals with the blurring of borders – both physical and mental borders. With exceptional speed the people of southern China have adopted western products, western entertainment and western capitalism. At the same time they have also adopted values, and ideals that support western capitalism.

The work is shot in a chinese Ikea and a chinese Mc Donalds, among other locations.
